I'm no expert but an orbital buffer tool is an orbital buffer tool. I think as long as the speed settings are the same it should be no different. Maybe I'm wrong?

What polishes do you have?

Also, what speed setting does the B&D have?

I have on hand Mothers Carnauba Cleaner wax, Meguiars Deep Crystal System Carnauba Wax, and Meguiars Deep Crystal System Polish.

On this site, I'm on page 5 of the chip repair thread, and am learning about Zaino and Sonus.

My B & D only has one speed.

You should pick up the PC and some menzerna polishes, as well as some pads.

DD would be the best place for this. you can email him and him will point you in the right direction as far as pad and polish selection.

Sorry, DD?

Just curious why the Black & Decker orbital polisher wouldn't work.. Just want to understand, and save some $$ if at all possible. Can you explain?

In order to polish out sanding marks you are going to need cutting pads, which cannot be attached to what your talking about and polishes to smooth out the hazing. Your B&D probably doesn't spin at a high enough rpm to be effective.

^ What he said. The B&D is not going to have the power or versatility of the PC. I bought the PC/Menzerna kit from Detailers Domain (DD) and couldn't be happier. It came with a array of polishes, waxes and pads. It is a little expensive but worth it. I tried to find it cheaper and couldn't.

Buy it and learn how to use it then make the money back detailing friends cars.
