Are PakShak Big Blues the exact same towel? There are so many knockoffs that aren't as good.

I knew that question would come, so I ordered a towel from properautocare.com (paid full retail and insane shipping costs -- made me cry) and when it gets here I'll let you know.

I asked this question earlier in the thread. You may want to re-read it.

Thought you meant the Pakshak and the SportsCarCare.com towels being the same - my bad if I misinterpreted.

I put in the wash with the rest of my MF towels. Just don't put it in the dryer. Let it air dry.

Wash with liquid detergent, not powder. You can put in dryer on low setting, but I also air dry mine. No bleach. No ironing.

Ok, I got my "original Big Blue ™ Drying Towel" via UPS before Thanksgiving. I've been repeatedly soaking and drip-drying and weighing and putting them through the dryer and I have found NO DIFFERENCE in the absorbtion ability of the PakShak/SportsCarCare.com towel vs. the "Original Big Blue ™". None. In each test, they absorbed the same amount within 1/2 an ounce, and each one was "victorious" in about half of the tests. I tried to beat on them by putting them in the washer and dryer continuously, seeing if I could notice any unravelling or fraying in the stitching and I don't see any at all in either one.

I will say the the appearance of "The Original" does have a slightly "thinner" waffle weave, but they seem to be identical in thickness, and the tests don't show any more absorbency. Both are identical in color and seem to have the same stiching around the side, to my uneducated eye.

Considering that the cost after shipping is about $10 cheaper for the PakShak/SportsCarCare.com towel, (even greater if I don't consider the "sale" price of The Original), I think there's a clear value winner. Only time will tell if one has a significantly longer lifespan than the other, but I know many an enthusiast that will vouch for the longevity of the MicroPak.

If anyone can think of a test I can perform other than the soak and drip or the quick-absorb, please let me know and I'll give it a try.
