Default black grease marks...

I have a 90 mile round trip commute on the freeway. I noticed that I have been getting few very small grease marks (at least it looks and feels like it). I can't wash it off. If I rub hard, it just smears. Has anyone seen this? I was thinking that when I put my car cover on and off, the tire residue on the cover is causing it, but I think it is related to the stuff on the road.

I would love to hear what I can do to clean this crap off.

Thanks,

Have you tried bug & tar remover? If this doesn't work, try Methyl Hydrate. In either case, after you use these things, you should re-wax that area.

Hi dlee,

I've never seen it before myself, until yesterday, when I was working on my car... Evidently it is black tar from new road surfaces and that crap was everywhere on my fenders and rear bumper!

I got if off fine with some Zymol wash and a terrycloth very gently rubbing it off...

Everything that I missed came off very nicely with the Mothers pre-conditioning wax (that stripper stuf, step 1 out of 3).

Regards,

Siepel

Thanks and that explanation sounds reasonable. I'll will try your suggestion.

Thanks again,

There are several ways to get this road grime off. You can either wash, use a cleaner wax, clay, bug and tar remover, or isopropyl alcohol. One of these WILL work

Good luck
