i dont know the stuff... gotta link?

just be careful if its acid based- and with any engine degreaser, be careful around labels. degreasers are good at removing them!

and just in case you want more info:

http://www.autopia-carcare.com/inf-engine.html

and i like p21s total auto wash for engines...

I bought a can of this stuff one day at Auto Zone because I couldn't find any CD2 Engine Detailer. But, I later found a can of CD2 so I never got around to using it. However, it seems like interesting stuff.

I did the same thing - no CD2 was available. I used the Black Magic on my 2002 GTI engine. It worked well and the VW mechanic was quite impressed. I also used it to clean the plastic on my stove. Nice.

I did the same thing last weekend. Autozone didn't have any CD2 so I picked this stuff up. Instead of using meguiar's all purpose cleaner and cd2 I just used the black magic. It worked great to say the least! Everything is finally clean with no black suit / dirt / and dust. I'd defiantly recommend it.

Just know it doesn't make the engine look like it has a clear coat on it. It just makes it look brand new from the factory and thats what I was looking for!

Also if you spray to much on, it might not fully evaporate (happened to me) so I just had to go over some areas with a wet rag to get rid of it.

A++ from me especially for 3 bucks or whatever it was

EDIT: Be sure to do it outside, the fumes get HORRIBLE inside of a garage...had to get my commercial sized fan out and air the garage out

we have a drain in our garage, and I had the door open so the fumes didn't get THAT bad (they were still bad).

I did hose off the engine, but in some of the areas where I might have sprayed to much, some of the white foam still didn't come off so I just used a wet rag.
