Default California Dash Duster

Does it need to be seasoned like the car dusters do? It doesn't say anywhere on it to do so.

yes... the fibers are embedded with parrafin (wax) and its a good idea (not a requirement) to season it before using.
i roll mine (or just lay it on top of) in newspaper for at least a night before using it.
i actually prefer a rag (i use a microfiber) that i keep under my seat for the interior (but do use a duster on the exterior). every 3 or 4 days, i pull it out after driving and wipe down the dash and doors. i hit it with a light coat of vinylex once in a while and stick it back under the seat.

I just bought one.

I plan to use it on the outside of the car, like a big one. My rational for getting the small one instead is this: I have a very small house (So Cal real estate is ridiculous), with very little storage. I figured the small one will fit in the carrying case I have all the rest of my car detailing stuff in (zaino, lexol, 303, etc - I've learned SO MUCH on this forum!).

After I got home I realized it is probably going to live in my trunk, because the parking lot at work is the one where the problem is (dust, pollen, etc). Oh well.

My big problem right now is pollen. Man! My car is covered in yellow-green dust every day after work.

Wanabe - does it ever get hot enough there to melt the wax on the duster while it's in the trunk? I seem to recall someone posting about that happening some time ago???
