Default Car Wash

Hey guys, i know im gonna be rushing tomarrow, and i really need to clean my car. It's a brand new 07 and i was wondering whether it was ok to take the car through a carwash (Mr Wizard). My friend works there and says that theyve had porsches run through it along with various other convertibles. I'm curious to know if this might be a bad idea with the soft top, thanks

As long as it's not a high-pressure touchless drive-through tunnel wash, then sure. Or even worse, one with the spinning brushes and stuff. That'll just eat your paint right up.

And the ones where you drive into the guides to pull the car through or align the car will nick and scratch your wheels.

The only "car wash" I dare take my S2000 to are the self-serve ones with the water/soap/rinse on the wand... And never use the brushes they have. Bring a sheepskin mitt.

I don't trust anyone washing my car except myself or a professional detailer

Shouldnt be a problem if you dont care about your paint. All those tunnel wash places do it add scratches and swirls to your paint. Its a business made for the lazy that think a swirled up vehicle is normal. Its not for us Wacko's (even though im not one yet )

it does pull you through the wash, and i've never had a problem with it scraping my wheels before. I really like it because it gives the car an great underbody wash which is really hard to do myself

I have never taken any vehicles I own thru one of those things. I just don't like them.
