Clay is amazing!
I just did a test section of my car this Sunday March 26th. I got up late and washed my car thoroughly! Then took it to the garage to see what I could do.
This clay isnt anything you can buy in Pep Boys. Its professional stuff that body shops use.(bottle is in the garage so I dunno the manufacturer) Its called Zebra Clay. Its BLACK and when worked and kneeded it gets way sticky. I mean rip your finger prints off sticky!
I decided to try to get all that black tar bumps off my car that show up right under the S2000 on the side. Well back forth back forth and wow they are going away and WOW the stains are dissapearing too! Kneed it some more and work the whole area. It was baby bottom smooth! I was like WOW! I then cleaned up with a towel and immediately applied ZYMOL JAPON! I feel that if its been clayed then it dosen't need HD-Cleans. Am I wrong?!
It cleaned up the car so much I was baffled! Just thought I would share.

Pinky,
The clay should probably be used with a lubricant. You should clay the entire car in preparation for polish and wax or sealant as it will remove all surface impurities including wax and sealants.

Yea only thing is that I was using a borrowed clay bar. So I tried a little on my trunk and it scratched it!
I was not happy! I am going to order my own bar so it will be brand new and go over the car with a cleaner first to make sure its totally clean. Then clay bar it. I did use a lubricant that it comes with.
Is this thing supposed to scratch!!! God I hope not!

The Meguire's Finish Spray w/ Clay didn't work for me. The clay kept leaving a residue that would not come off with the 100% cotton cloth/Meguire's Finish Spray. I had to use the First Finish spray to remove the clay. It also left a little bit of scratches on my test area. Just an FYI.
I had the tar problem under the S2000 badge as well. I decided to try my Honda Aerosol Cleaner/Polish. I rely on this stuff 100% to clean my bike....have not used water on the bike yet.
To my amazement....it worked perfectly. It is petroleum based (I think) so I washed it thoroughly after. It came out perfect....and I had been trying warm water for 15 minutes before.

Just spray on, wait a couple of seconds and wipe with a 100% cotton towel.
