Default CRAP!~!.....Took off windshield tape!

oohhhh crap well i heated up the windshield tap and took off one side which left some sticky stuff from the tape......and other side came off clean......and the middle was just a disaster almost all the tape was left on. The paint doesnt feel like it has a clear coat, so i waxed it and hopefully that helps.......question is. What should i do about the tape left on? i dont want to use GO-Gone because the paint is already really dull and dont want it to fade......what should i do or use? THANKS, Steve

goo gone is once choice...
there are lots of choices, and my fav is wd-40.

soak a rag and apply to small sections at a time with heavy dose. let it sit a minute or so and rub down. repeat as needed.

then rewash, and rewax...

-------

if the paint is dull after you are finished removing the glue and washing, you could hit it with a paint cleaner or other light polish (swirl remover would work too)- this should bring back the shine. then rewax...
