Cleaning Windshield tape.
I parked my s2000 in my parking garage the other night and they must have been painting. I now have a rough feel on the paint and you can see paint on the windows and the windshield tape. I think polishing the paint and the windows will get rid of the paint because on the windshield it comes off with my fingernail. But I do not know how to clean the windshield tape. Any advice? And luckily the top doesn't look bad at all.
clay is the solution to everything other than the tape...
detailers clay was first used for removing paint overspray by body shops. its the same thing with what you need to do-
on the tape you gotta be very careful. anything that will disolve paint can harm plastic- can you get it off of the tape with your fingernail? or is there too much?

Why wouldn't clay work on the tape as well?
if the paint is hardened on, you gotta use extra lube and not push too hard.
make sure its not an aggressive clay.

it can... just gotta be really careful - so that the tape isnt damaged.

I clayed my car today. WOW the difference it feels so smooth I just want to sleep on it. The clay got most of the paint off of the windshield tape but it is very tedious. I can't figure out how to get the paint off the trim now. I tried claying, simple green, windshield cleaner, vinyl/rubber cleaner, and almost everything I have in the bucket. Didn't try throttle body cleaner, but I see that to be detrimental to the trim. Any ideas?
