Is there a difference in the pad colors, and how aggressive/cutting they are, or they all identical except for colors

you are correct.

with the pads we sell there is

yellow the most cut
Orange cutting
Green cutting
White polishing
Black glaze or finishing
Blue glaze or finishing
red wax
