Default Dimples/waves in paint...

I put the original thread in the 'UTH' section, and realized the wackos in here might be of more help. Well, I removed my S2000 emblems yesterday, and afterwards I noticed that the surface didn't seem smooth. I cannot feel anything with my fingers, but in the right lighting you can definitely see the VERY small dents/dimples. I'm not sure if this is something from the factory or something I possibly did.

For removal, I used fishing line, wd40 and used a blunt plastic scraper on some parts. I wasn't pressing very hard at all, so I really don't think such a light force could have deformed the metal(at least, I hope not).

Curious if a PDR guy can possible work the metal. They seem to be so darn small!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

wow, no idea what you are talking about... got pics??

only thing i can think of is that the paint can be a different color. but thats not what dimpling is. never heard of dimpling from badges or adhesive.

give us something to look at-

I will definitely try to take some pics tomorrow. As for the dimpling, I think a better word is wavy.

honda sheet metal is very thin so any scraping with a tool besides a towel could cause dents in the paint.

Sounds a lot like "door ding" kind of damage to the fenders. Were you using a heat gun to heat up the glue when removing the emblems? The heat could have cause the metal/paint to get soft while pulling them off, and caused minor damage. I dunno how much PDR would help if they're really small. I know I have like 2 on one side of my car, and they're so small, I KNOW a PDR guy couldn't touch them, but being a wacko I know they're there and it's so annoying

Thanks for the replies.

I didn't use any heat, it was actually quite cold outside. I'm definitely fearing that this is some permanent damage!
