Default Engine bay

For cleaning the engine is it effective to just go crazy with simple green on a warm engine and just let the engine clean itself, or would that leave alot of crappy water spot stains?

I think there may be some issues with Simple Green and aluminum; a bunch of the stuff under your hood is aluminum.

Ahh gotcha... alot of detail shops around here refuse to do the engine bay on the premise, according to their words "spraying water on your block could crack it and we will not accept responsibility for it"

Im a noob to cleaning the engine bay, especially the engine. Im gonna spend some time on the DIYs in this section to learn some good engine bay cleaning methods.

I wouldn't recommend simple green.. maybe pick up an apc from meguiars or something. A gallon is only $20. And you dilute it between 3 and 10 to 1.

So 1 gallon can make 10...

I personally like using P21S Total Auto Wash on the engine bay.
Works wonders with a good brush.
