Default Factory Touchup Paint good?

Just wanted to see what everyone's impressions are of the factory touchup paint (bottle with brush). Does it match closely? I found a few small scrapes on the rear fender near where it meets the back bumper, just wanted to see if it's any good before I go and make it worse than it is.

Car is a 00 GPW

the reviews that i have seen about colors have generally been favorable for white.

I have a 05 rio and have a few rocks chips I'd like to fix up. I wouldn't mind a few pointers as far as what the best touch-up kit for my color is and the proper technique for a seemless fix. Thanks!

Geez that autopia write up seems pretty complicated. I'm not sure if i want to go out and buy 20 things to touch up a 1/4 inch scratch.

What would you say are the minimum requirements to do it right? Lightly sand around it, touch it up and then polish it?

Does the same technique to repair chips and scratches on the autopia website apply to bumper scratches also? I can see some primer from deep gouges but I do not know how well plastic will react to the steps described e.g. sanding, filling with primer, applying silverstone paint etc. Also, have you guys had good results with silverstone paint from dealership?

gabe

I was driving down the 101 and 405 freeway when unavoidable object was in the fast lane. It ended up gouging my bumper/headlight, nail in tire.

I use the OEM paint on my GPW, i dont use the brush that comes with bottle.
Get a small artist brush, it works a lot better
