Default First Photos

First a quick intro. I've been on the site about a year and have learned a tremendous amount from the gang here about paint and car care. I use Poorboys EX-P (and bug wash) topping it with Mothers Carnuba paste. I even learned how to clay bar as I could feel the buildup on the new paint in about 6 months even with a Noah cover.

I love the PB products, and find the paste carnuba gives my NFR a good wet look. However, the dang thing is so wet that I can't seem to take a decent picture. Here are some closeups, one with a (1) days worth of dust. Any advice on getting good pictures?

i find that if you shoot photos from diff angles in diff light (diff times of day), something will look good!!
early in the morning and late in the evening (right before sunrise and right after sunset) are good light times too.

with digital, you can shoot bunches and delete most of them. just pay attention to what you see in the viewfinder and look outside the camera too.

and hey, those pics are not a bad start at all!!

i am heading off to the bench to start production on a new badge- i can just tell that my pm is about to ping !! (hint, hint- pm me for the wacko badge if you want me to find one for you)

Wanabe touched on a good one, lighting. How about standing further back and using the zoom?

Good thought, I'll do that. I tried straight natural light and natural with a fill flash. Funny thing is that I can show the dust perfectly.

Also play with switching to manual focus. Often times, my Rebel XTi won't get a lock on a really shiny car. Switching to manual focus solves this.
