Default foamaster review #2

so it was suggested to me that i might try another shampoo to see if the sudsing would improve from my first test- it was also suggested that if try p21s again, i might put more shampoo and less water in the bottle... my foamaster report with p21s was at:

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=534268

this is a 2 year old scion that lives outdoors (and not covered- cause its a daughter's car). so plenty dirty this time, unlike my last report.
went to the supply cabinet looking for another shampoo to test. primary quality i was looking for was sudsing. did not care about anything else. someone had given me a rain-ex shampoo a long time ago that i was not likely to use ever. however, the label says "high foaming" - perfect, a shampoo that i wasnt going to use and it has lotsa foam. reason i would never use it is that it is a combo shampoo with wax. what wacko in his right mind would take a short cut like that?!!

so this is my subject shampoo:

http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/y...68_1971_4953690

put about 3 caps in the foam bottle, filled it the rest of the way with water for this test.

the before (dirt isnt showing really well, but trust me its dirty):

and now for the foam:

conclusion as to the foam- dont waste your money on this one... i have a feeling that the wax reduces the amount of foam. in any case, i used more than twice the concentration of this as i did with the p21s and got less foam.

for comparo purposes, this was the p21s shampoo on my car yesterday (there was much more foam- its just not sticking cause of the zaino and p21s wax on the car):

o.k., back to the scion- this is the rinse photo:

even with a "wax shampoo" the water isnt beading well... this car needs to be waxed!

as long as i am using a rain-ex product, decided to use the rain-ex that i do like- the one for windshields... its on my car and i dont even have wipers at all!

next, the surface was badly in need of clay- so clayed with the zaino clay using a megs quick detail spray. before i am even ready to polish this car, i learn that i wont have time to polish- so since the clay has removed what little protection might be on the car, i gotta put something down.
time for finish first- a synthetic that sets up quickly and gives good shine.

this car isnt finished, but good enough for today- the main project was testing the foam of the "high foaming" rain-ex shampoo... and, again, the conclusion is that in a foam gun, it isnt so high foaming!!

and the after pic:

You've got to put at the very least 1.5 ounces of soap in the foam gun. 3 capfuls is probably less than 1 oz.

I agree, I put about 1/8 Meg Gold Class shampoo to 7/8 water... It worked great! tons of suds; especially on the E setting.

thx guys... did use the e setting, and will put more soap next time-

wasnt unhappy with the amount of suds, but more would have made it last longer...
so put the shampoo in, then the water and then shake it up?

do you turn off the suds to rinse, or just remove the whole thing?

i just turned it to the no soap setting to rinse, but then had to disconnect the whole thing to sheet the car.
