maybe we should link to other forums with more traffic?

I.E. S2000talk.. local forums..

Is that allowed? Wanabe?
I don't think it's a matter of traffic. This thread is getting plenty of views. People are just not voting for some reason or another. I imagine those who are not voting would like a third choice of "I dont' care."

wow... i'm not an official member on roster of the wash and wax forum but i hang out here alot... so, what exactly will the sponsor do in this forum if we get one? i mean will they just hang around and advertise their products here or will they be able to moderate posts and such?
We already have a great mod in this forum. We don't need anymore

Seriously though, they would just be here as a resource. They would probably advertise their products to some degree as well. Some of that advertising I imagine would be in the form of give-aways. The exact relationship would have to be negotiated with whoever is interested in being a sponsor though.

Check out Bimmerforums.com to see what Autogeek does over there.

thx mikeyc for the vote of confidence!

have just been handed down our sponsorship rules...
https://www.s2ki.com/Home/index.php?option=...=1&limitstart=0

prices are outdated (would be higher now), but most of the other info is fairly current.

$3K for a year of sponsorship sounds pretty reasonable. I wonder how much extra it would be to have an exclusive forum.

Also, I think according to the sponsor rules Chip would be out. I think his business is home based, but I may be wrong on that.

i have no objections to free stuff. nor do i have objections for our forum having extra funds. and i think it'd be good to have ppl that are experts about products around. the only downfall i see is that their opinions are biased, but probably as far as product reviews for the stuff they carry, it'll be pretty good. i guess i'm voting a yes.

Nope, I wasnt joking. MANY of us, if not most use Autogeek for detailing supplies, so if they can give us 10% off or something, s2ki is WAY cheaper than any other advertising, and you hit THOUSANDS of people. They can definetely profit from it. Im still trying to get a sponsor for the electronics section.

I don't see why it would be a problem, since they carry almost everything and seem to be adding more daily =p.

the downside that killed this last time was that with a sponsor it is harder to post up specials from non-sponsors, and to get advice from non-sponsors-
but maybe we can work around this this time...
What does this mean? What info can the sponsor prevent from being posted?
