I voted yes.

I'm not a W&W member...yet, so maybe my vote won't matter. I'm still working on getting my supplies and doing research. But I will tell you that I spend 90% of my s2ki time in this forum.

I voted yes though because it seems like *most* of the supplies that Mikey suggests can be found from one or two places. I'll echo what others have said in that it may be tougher for non-sponsors to show products.

AND, more importantly, if it prevents Mikey from doing more great product reviews and tips and stuff, then I want to change my answer to no. For me personally, those are far more valuable than a discount on the supplies.

Voted Yes, this would benefit us in a big way for the reasons stated above.

I like the sponsor idea. Relationships like these tend to be beneficial to all involved. Apart from any discounts, etc., the forum would be brought closer to an additional source of knowledge.

Thanks for all the votes guys!! Keep them coming. There seems to be a few questions being raised. So, I'll try to answer them as best I can. Then maybe wanabe can correct any misinformation I may have in my answers.

First, EVERYONE's vote counts. You don't have to have a W&W wacko badge holder to vote in this poll. We want to know what everyone who frequents this forum thinks. Remember this forum belongs to all people registered on S2KI.com.

Second, people seem to be confused about the negative aspects of having a sponsor. To reiterate . . . if we had a sponsor you would not be able to post up information about specials or sales at a non-sponsor. Additionally, non-sponsors would be discouraged from posting.

Now understand when I use the term "non-sponsor" I'm referring to someone who owns a business that is in competition with our sponsor. So, if CMA was our sponsor guys from Autogeek would not be allowed to post in our forum.

Any member not associated with a competing business (like me ) could post up whatever "how to" articles or product reviews they wanted. But, they could not post up information about specials, sales, prices, or coupon codes at a store in competition with our sponsor.

I hope that clears things up.

Thanks Mickey...

It seems the sponsor will have a monopoly so to speak on the forum. They effectively block out all other competitors by purchasing the forum.

I guess I kinda like the diversity. It seems to keep the playing field level and encourages fair market competition.

Sort of . . . you would still be able to talk about any product you want whether the sponsor sells it or not. However, if you are a seller of that product you would not be able to post about it.

Thanks for voting! We have over 200 views on this thread though and only 22 votes so far. I guess not too many people care either way.

This cleared a lot up IMO. You made it seem like if Autogeek was our sponcer we couldn't suggest Zaino or other brands not sold on Autogeek.

BCS, because you're not a site member means you won't get the discount on group buys and things from the sponcer but your vote is important. *please correct me if I'm wrong.

...Voting in favor of the sponcer now...
