Have I damaged my clearcoat?
MY05 Berlina black, bonnet was re-sprayed 18 months ago to get rid of stone chips, always washed/polished and detailed with Menzerna polish, Poorboys black hole glaze and Nattys blue wax. Today I noticed that a bird had shat two small pieces of crap on the bonnet in the blaring sunshine so I soaked it with Megs ultimate detailer and cleaned it all off. I noticed that it has left two bird shat stains on the paint so I got the Megs G220 out with a bit of power gloss and a compounding pad and gave them a few passes, I couldnt get the marks off the paint so did the best I could then went over it with a finishing pad and Megs final finish, then a coat of Black hole glaze and finally a coat of Nattys wax. It was looking nice and shiny but I could faintly still see the bird crap stains so thought that's about as good as I'm going to get it. Just noticed today in the sunshine from a certain angle that the areas that I used the power gloss on are duller than the reat of the bonnet so have I damaged the clearcoat and been too aggressive with the G220?
Any help appreciated.

G220? Do you mean 220 grit sand paper for wetsanding?
If so then probabley. wetsanding you would start in the 1000-2200 range.
If you did your work in the sun or the hood was hot then you just need to re-buff it and you should be ok.
