Default Help Me Please!!!!!!

Hey all,

Over the weekend I decided to Wash, Clean, Polish, and Wax my beloved stook. To my horror, after the cleaning process I noticed little specs covering my entire car! Upon closer inspection it seems to be tiny white granules of some sort. When I run my hand over the paint it is defintely rough. I tried using a fingernail to remove one but no go. I rewashed about 3 times and used the paint cleaner 3 times. I felt like crying I see roughly 5-7 particle per square inch! First question what the hell is it? Concrete dust? And second how can I get it off? Thanks so much guys!!!

How long have you had your car? Is this your first wax? Check this link for more information on cleaning your finish with a clay bar.

Pinnacle paintwork cleansing lotion also works very well.

You can buy it here http://store.yahoo.com/classic-motoring/polish.html

And read others opinions about its use here http://autopia-forums.com/

Just reading though your board, I dont own an S2000, I have had many civics and now and RSX Type S. But i had something similar happen to my 99 Civic Si. To make a long story short Illinois dept of highways just got done painting a yellow line on an insterstate just as i was merging on to it, and I drove the car right though the fresh yellow line, I too had very small dots-specks all over the car that wouldnt wash off, I left it on a day or so and it kinda of baked on. After trying everything claybars, and fingernails and paint cleaners. I gave up, even tried paint thinner and gasoline. I Was ready to file a law suit if they didnt pay. It only took 4 months but t hey did pay an autobody shop to "wetsand" and buff. I ended up knowing a friend who does this all day for body work , so he told me how to do this, and helped me.
More than likley thats what your going to have to do if they dont come off your S2000. The whole process is something I wont ever do again in my life, it was a truely a weekend of hell. And not worth the 450 they paid me to do it. First you take a bucket of water and 1200 to 1500 grit sand paper and soak and splash water on the panel your doing. 1500 sand Paper almost feels like typing paper its that fine. An then just start sanding till the area is clean from these marks, keeping it very wet. The surface of the clear becomes dull and non shiney. Once your done you dry and wash the car. and then you have to have a machine buffer, a whool pad, and compound to put on the car and buff back to a glass like shine, It took me about 6-7 times over my car to get it back, and hours and hours of back breaking labor cause the wieght and speed of the machine alone is enough to kill you. OH and pray you dont burn though the paint , I did in 2 spots and had to have it these trim pieces repainted and do the whole process over to get the orange peel off. Take to an auto body shop to do this, and GOOD LUCK !
