Help on removing swirl marks
Thanks guys... I tried the 3m Fine Scratch Remover over the weekend and it looks much better. One more coat of that stuff and it should look great. Sure is alot of working washing, then drying, then scratch removing then waxing. I thought my arms were going to fall off.
Well - owning a black car, a large 4-door black car 0 I feel qualified to comment on this particular thread as a way of introducing myself.
First - Hi all. I spend time on various boards trying to learn and offer assistance when I can - so I'll likely be here at least once a day.
Second - the first 6 months I had my present car - was pretty much winter and I really didnt have a clue about serious car care. That meant do it yourself washes with the "brush"
next spring I was introduced to some people who started me on the road to car care heaven.
I have used the 3M #39009 - and i swear to god - i thought i was gonna stroke out. i did it manually. eventually had to stop - and since i didnt have a machine then - i just washed and covered it up with 20 odd coats of Zaino.
There was a difference in the swirls though - and I might just do it again this winter (when I have a free weekend) now that I have a randon orbit polisher.
cheers for now . . . .

I've been using 3M swirl remover on my motorcycles for a few weeks now. Doing it by hand, I can tell you that there is no way you can remove the swirl marks on an entire car. Even on something as small as a motorcycle tank, the best you can do is make the swirls less noticeable...they are still there. Too much work/time. I will be getting an orbital buffer soon, and I do hope that this will yield some improvement.
