Default hey GUYS, GOT A QUESTION...

I posted a about a week ago that I was going to wash my car for the first time in 6 months...well, its been raining here in Atlanta on and off so much I can't find a time to do it.!!! So my question is this: do you guys check the weather forcast to see how long your cars will be clean before it rains again? Just wondering b/c I was going to wash it today, but checked the weather online and supposed to have scattered t-storms this weekend...dont think its worth it. Just wanted to know how you guys "prepare".....

we dont usually have rain here...
if the car is really dirty, i would wash even if it rained on it.
i have washed the car in the rain before.
cool experience (dried it in the garage)- didnt have to drive it until the next day (after the rain was gone)

I've also washed my cars on some of those iffy weather days,as long as you don't mind the neighboors looking at you as if you're a little off your rocker and can handel the fifty comments everyone seems to want to give "it's gonna rain ya know" if it's really bad I wash it...plus it's a known fact they run better when clean.

Yeah the neighbors think I'm an idiot for washing in the rain.
I've even gone as far as getting a ride to work or class so the S doesn't get rained on.
I've gotten the basic wash down to about a half hour. The wheels are holding me back. This is in the shade, so it's not necessary to rinse the car as often. Then pull into the garage and finish up. Every once in a while I'll take it to the carwash so they'll clean the inside.

Yes, I check the weather before I decide to wash my car. If it's going to rain during the week, then I'll probably wash it the following weekend. Of course, the S2K never see's the rain. That's what the beater is for

Mark,

You're missing a great opportunity. It's a blast to drive with the top down in a warm rain. I used to do this a lot, and I'd bring a towel to wipe the inside of the windshield! Haven't done it yet in my S2000, but looking forward to it.

Oh, and the looks you get are priceless.

I'll tell you what's really cool (though perhaps unwise ). Drive into a lightning storm with the top down. The experience is intense, and a little unnerving. As you approach the storm, you can smell the ozone in the air and the visual is awesome.

That said, if your hair starts getting staticy and going skyward, duck under the windshield!!

I was out in a thunderstorm once recently - top up. Normally, I feel quite safe in a car. It's a pretty good Faraday cage protecting you from lightning (but not helpful against tornados )

Then I started thinking about the cloth top. Well, maybe the S is not the best place to be in a storm!
