Holy Shiite!!
I was parked outside for a couple hours. Then when I went to my car I saw bird crap all over the trunk/driver side fender. It looked like an eagle or pterodactyl relieved itself on my car cause the spot was HUGE. Anyway, I went home and washed it off. As I was drying the car I noticed where the bird crap was, the paint was all messed up. Looked like a bad touch up job. I thought it was still residue left from the crap so I tried to scratch it off, then tried a gum/adhesive remover. Finally, I tried a random orbital buffer and some 3m rubbing compound. Paint is still messed up. Not as noticable as before, but I still can't get it out of my head that bird crap messed up my paint. Anything else I can do??
sorry to hear that- really bad luck!!
probably would have used 1z first:

the rubbing compound could have hazed your car...
try a paint cleaner or maybe a swirl remover (either should work- my preference would be the paint cleaner) if you have haze.
after you get the paint back to normal, you will need to rewax the car... any of the above procedures (including the compound that you already used) will remove any paint protection that you have on the car.
to prevent this in the future, get a car cover!

There's no haze but the paint is still messed up. Do you think a bug/tar remover will do the trick? I don't think there is any crap left on the car (I scratched at it with my nail) but rather the nasty chemicals that birds have in their crap ate at the paint. Which is why I tried the rubbing compound to smooth it out. I didn't go crazy with it but should I try it longer?
i think its too late for the tar/bug remover, but that is the least aggressive way to go and worth trying.
sounds like they might have etched the clear coat...
i wouldnt go rubbing compound but would do a light compound, such as 3m fine cut (i think its called) compound.
be sure to work it our all the way (the main mistake that folks make with compounds is not using them enough)-
make a side to side pattern about 3 feet wide then go over it front to back (always end front to back)- would should hit it about 10 to 12 times or so (it will seem like too much).
then you might need to do a swirl removal if there is haze.
i can track down some better instructions if you like...
