Default Honda quality?

I detailed and waxed the car (4.5 hours ) today. Anyway i got a good look at all the little nicks and scrapes and after inspecting the hood really closely it appears (although not extensive) that their are three softball size areas where the finish is already seaming to be fading. Im gonna try to download some pics. I doubt they it will show up in the photos. They are very faint. But will gradually get worse. Im going to mention it to the dealer when i take it in wednesday. It should be covered under my warranty.
Anybody (non garage people) see issues with the paint faiding after only a year or two?

are you the original owner?
if so, car has always been waxed?
is the area rough or dry feeling?

pics would be helpful

(sounds like paint fade from unprotected paint- i also wonder if it might be bad clear coat)

What exactly was your process during the detail? Did you try anything on the area to improve it? I'm just wondering if this could be dried polish or wax that wasn't properly removed, rather than failing clearcoat.

first - wash/dry and inspection (both visual as well as feeling the paint)... always the first step
if you see any peeling, it might be clear coat damage- pretty rare, but it does happen (but usually on neglected cars)-

after washing... (at least the affected area, but maybe more depending on what the inspection shows)
1. clay

2. paint cleaner (mild polish)- or maybe a glaze (prob a product that contains some oils would be good)

3. rewax (or synthetic topped by wax)-
