Default how do clean rims?

I just bought an 05 s2k with nice volks but unforutunetly it wasnt taken care of and there beyond dirty. There clouded and maybe have salt deep in the dish/lip area. Is there a way i can clean them myself without havin to sand them or resurface them? NO polishes work right now..

Mr. wanabe,

I just gotta ask. Have you looked at this page that you referred mrevilandy to? I added a few things over the weekend. Feel free to delete or move anything that you do not think appropiate for this forum.

Well finally caught a break in rain and was able to take some pics. Not that great but every flaw you see is AFTER i rinse, and polish with mothers.

Are those clearcoated or bare aluminum? One of the acid cleaners might work if they are bare aluminum. Be careful and follow instructions.

If they are clear coated, you could try a clearcoat polish. It would have kaolin (a very fine abrasive - the same stuff that is the abrasive in toothpaste) in it and might polish out the spots.
