How do you clean a clean car
I have tried just about every product out there (with exception to Zaino, which from the results I achieve I cannot justify the additional cost of Zaino), I use Meguiar's Quik Detail Spray with a microfiber towel. At least use a 100% cotton detailing towel, but I highly recommend paying a few $$ extra for microfiber.
Meguiar's works just as advertised - spray on and wipe off. You can watch the spray & microfober actually attract surface dirt and lift onto the towel; 15 - 20 minutes later you're done.
BTW, this works on the surface dirt if you have not driven in the rain. If I have driven in the rain I always wash first.

OK, that's it! I am not putting Lemon Pledge on my list of things to buy
because I use Orange Glow on my oak and I'm not going to change now. Really, I'm serious, I'm not!
Oh, this isn't the antique furniture site? Sorry, never mind!!

I was thinking about getting the Cali Duster, but I was concerned about this equation:
Dry car+ dust + dry mop across the top of my hood = scratches.
Big grown-up man like me being a fraidy-cat of minute dust particles.
Since my car is completely waxed at all times (Meg's, natch) all I do every other morning is spray the car with a light mist of water with the hose and wipe off with a clean cotton towel. Heck, because of the wax, the towels glide across the surfaces and it takes 5 minutes. Voila!

Oh man, duster is like rubbing fine sandpaper all over your paint, this will definitely result in scratches and swirl marks.
Here's what you do, get yourself some Mother's California Gold Showtime spray, it comes in a red bottle. I've used Meguiars Quick Detail before, but Mother's leaves this silky smooth extra shine that is just awesome. Use this every few days, and you won't have to wash your car more than once a month, and wax every few months depending on whether you garage or not.
But yeah, stay away from dusters, stick with 100% terry cloth (preferrably the thicker kind), and a spray every few days depending on dust and fingerprints.

I'm not going to push the Duster onto anyone. If you're paranoid about it, then don't use it. I've used it with great success but then, I don't have a red or black car right now but when I did have a black car, it worked great.
First, the Duster is NOT a dry mop. If you've owned one and used one, you'd know this. It is impregnated with a kind of wax. It is this wax that makes it work as it should. On the rare occasion that you would wash this thing, you must re-wax it before using again.
For those who make the statement outright that it scratches - have you actually used one? And did you use it correctly and under the right circumstances? Or are these assumptions based on what you think it must be doing - causing scratches?
