Default How often do you wax?

How often does everyone wax, and does it matter on the weather?

Like will you wax if the weather forecast for next week is rainy?

I've had my car for half a year, and I wash every weekend or every other weekend, depending on how much time I have. I havent had a chance to wax so far because the weeks I have time to wash claybar polish and wax... the next week's forecast calls for scattered showers. I dont want to waste a whole day if its going to rain!

Think of it as protection for your paint rather than having the car really shiny for an extra day or so...

doesnt rain much here... but if it does i usually take another car. if i have to take mine, i wash it after the rain is gone.
i "wax" (synthetics as often as wax) about every 6 weeks or so (everytime i wash).
my car looks freshly detailed for about 6 to 8 weeks due to the detail sprays and dustings (as well as the car cover).
if you are washing every week, its even more important that you wax at some point. not likely that you have much protection on the car if you are using wax and havent done it in awhile.
for your situation i would use a synthetic and top it with a carnuba. that way you can just maintain the carnuba every few weeks or so (until you become addicted like me!- perfectionists anonymous)

hey lig-

yup- you are right!
but even better excuse for the details!!
(the car would really need to be detailed more often- guess i would have to have a garage to detail in, huh?!)
the wax/synthetic protection is much more important in real weather- the protection keeps the road stuff off of the car and on the protection surface.
hope to visit your area later this summer- keep the weather good for me, o.k.?

If I can, appx. once a month or so, despite what the forecast calls for. With my Tundra, I usually do one side of the truck one week, and then the other side the next week given the vehicle's size and colour (black).

About once a month to 6 weeks.

Mobile is #2 in rainfall to Seattle, I gave up worrying about weather or not it was going to rain in the determining when I detailed a LONG time ago. I've had a theory for a long time that if I do wax then it' is DEFINATELY going to rain, just makes the following spray detail or wash a little smoother
