Default When should you reapply wax?

Hey guys,

Im currently using p21s wax, i was just wondering whats a good indication when you need to reapply wax? For the first 2 weeks the water beaded quite nicely but its starting to not bead aswell comming into the 3rd week. The car has only been washed once after the last coat of wax.

It depends on the conditions. Does your car sit outside all day and night in the elements. Sitting out in the sun all day takes the biggest toll. Carnauba is usually good for 3-6 weeks... maybe up to 8 weeks for a garage queen.

not beading is a sign that the wax is fading -
how bout using a synthetic topped with p21s?
you would get a lot longer time between apps that way.
car cover will also extend the protection

Beading is not always the best indicator of whether there is wax left on your car. If your car is dirty, it will inhibit the beading even if you just waxed it yesterday.

To insure protection for my car, I wax monthly and wash weekly followed by a spray of either spray wax or QD (that contains wax).

Noice MikeyC... Thats what I usually do with my car, except I don't QD or spray wax afterwards, I usually throw a coat of P21S or Meg's Liquid on. but I cant wax my car for 40 days so I wont have a problem, since I leave for basic training in three weeks

Thanks for the advice guy's, i just thought the meguairs deep wet look sealant would be enough protection for the time being, its currently being topped up by p21s.

Im going to give Optimum car wax a good when i can get my hands on it, it seems to get some good reviews here and there and it sounds very easy to use. Thinking of topping up with p21s every month or so, though it doesn't seem like it lasts p21s still amazes me everytime a fresh coat is layered onto the car.
