I played paintball for a while....its not bad stuff until its on paint.....in the sun...

Basically it EATS the paint. Thats why its cloudy until u rub it. It's basically been acid etched....and then dyed whatever color the paintball was. Shitty deal.

I've removed these before using a buffing wheel over and over...it was a time consuming process im not sure it was the best way to go about it but it did work. Autogeek.net's suggestions sound on the mark. U can get rid of the haze by just adding a liquid wax the gas stripped everything off the paint already. The color however is deep etched in. Hopefully it didn't eat through the whole clear coat. Sorry that happened to you. Best of luck. If you have to wetsand be sure to NOT start with a lower grit then u have to. It's better to use a really fine grit over and over....soon as u start down like 400 you'll have to sand more then u want to just to get back to like 800-1000 range. So just start really high and wet sand with the number you'll just about finish with

Yes, 05TurboS2k is correct. I went to a detail shop and they told me the clear coat was etched, and they don't want to wet sand due to the risk of really messing it up.

They'll just compound it and polish it. It got out about 95% of the damage, but I still know it's there.

There's not much to do about it. So if you guys ever get shot with a paint ball make sure to wash it off right away or else it'll etch through your paint.

Peace,
Gabe

Well, if you have comprehensive insurance coverage that covers vandanism, you do have a claim. Don't know what your deductibel is, so it may not help. Just an idea.
