So I'm going to give Turtle wax ice and their ultra gloss liquid wax a try on Friday. I was wondering if I could get a general conseus on what to apply first...the wax or ice? To me it would make sense to do wax, then follow up with ice but it seems to be the opposite with products like zaino...

 

Ice goes on first because it's a synthetic. You always put the most durable layer on first. I read an extremely long thread on the reasoning once and it made complete sense, but it currently escapes me what it was.

Also, I would do some research on the TW Ultra Gloss Wax before using it. A lot of OTC waxes contain a lot of cleaners but don't note it on the label. So they remove anything you put down before it.

 

pretty sure that specific turtle wax is made from two carnubas some synthetic (or maybe a resin) and no cleaners...

i think your suggestion is probably fine mikeyc- ice then the tw.
i dont think that the tw has enough synthetic to be a problem over the ice, but if there is a concern you can always do a small area first as a test (i like to test on the lower areas of the car- no one really sees those)

 

Why not read read the directions on the package.......

i didnt buy the kit, i bought the two items separately...and this is sort of a mix and match since you could go so far as to say the two do the same thing. i was just trying to get a deeper and brighter shine to the car

on a side note, am i the only person that enjoys waxing their car that they love the smell of wax? i opened the ultra gloss to get a whiff of it and the g/f thought i was going bonkers

hey wanabe, got a question for ya.... when you put on p21 over zaino, when it comes time to wax the car again, do you just add more zaino on top of the p21 or do you remove it? the reason im asking is because i was going to add more ice over my regular wax and i didnt know if there was anything wrong with that...


and oh yea, ill put a more detailed review up (with pics) as soon as this weekend starts...gotta get off ym lazy butt and join s2ki so i can post pics. but in a nutshell, i think the combo of ice and high gloss wax is amazing! ive been getting more compliments now than i ever did with zaino alone1
