I just clayed my S for the 1st time also can not believe that there was that much grittiness to the paint. The clay bar removed all that contamination. I hosed the car down after could not believe the residue left over so i recomend washing agian i could not see any on the surface but when i hosed the car down it became apparent that there was residue left over. I then hand washed it agian with a fresh bucket of soap.
If you haven't clayed your car yet i definetly recomend it I resisted all this time because i was afraid of scrathing the paint and i'm extremely anal about keeping my car clean but after i dried the car off and inspected the surface before i started applying protection i did not notice any scrathes or scuff marks. If you just follow the instructions and take your time you'll be rewarded with a nice clean smooth surface. I used the Blackfire polyclay2 kit shown here My Webpage

If you REALLY want to get anal about the clay bar, try wrapping a piece of plastic wrap (like Saran wrap) over your hand, and run your hand over the areas you have clayed. You will be amazed at what is missed. You'll have to work longer to get the car spotless but it is worth the effort. If you don't want to know, don't use the plastic wrap!

My husband and I clayed my week old '00 S2K today. His procedure is
1 Wash
2 Clay
3 Mequires Paint cleaner
4 " Paint polisher
5 " Carnuba Wax step 3

Works very well- especially over time when you have done it 3-4 times.

Sorry for the delay in posting pics. It will 2 weeks Monday since I clayed the car. I was able to re-wash and wax on Wednesday April 27.

Since then we have had quite a lot of rain and bad weather.

Car was washed last Saturday and driven in the rain this past week.

Washed the car this morning with Mr. Clean auto kit. Let the car self dry and did not do any wiping.

Here are the results. Shine on the car and reflection is wonderful. I have been asking everyone at work if the ever clayed their car and they all look at me like I am crazy.

Thanks for the advice and help.

Couple pics of the S2K's big brother. Takes me less than 10 minutes to wash the S and about 30 minutes to cover the Pilot...
