Need clear coat to Touch-up
I have a chip on top of my passenger fender that needs to be repaired. The chip is small but it looks like it chipped to the primer. Can you guys comment on the process and what paint you recommend. my car is suzuka blue. I have read the links to paint touch ups however I want to know if you guys used primer and clearcoat in your touchups.

You should only need to primer if the primer itself is gone and bare metal is exposed. Otherwise, stick with the touchup paint and the process involving the 2000-grit wetsanding with pencil erasers and such. And be patient to let the paint cure long enough!
I don't think clear coat is necessary over a properly-done touchup, assuming we're just talking about a small chip or scratch.
