Default Need Help!

I know this is has been asked several times, but I still need help. I just got a pc 7336 at lowes, do I need to order a back plate still (I am thinking most likely yes, just want to make sure)? I was wondering if you guys have recommendations for pads and polishes and where to get them. I already have microfiber towels, claybars, zaino kit, various detail sprays, and 100 grand wax. I was planning polishing the car to get rid of swirls, then use zaino, and then wax for the extra shine. Is this correct? polish then zaino? My daily's paint is in pretty bad shape and I wanted to get on it asap.

So far I was thinking of going with MikeyC's suggestion on another thread: "If I could do it all over I would probably buy a couple of 6.5" Meguiar's polishing pads, a 6.5" yellow & a 6.5" orange Wolfgang pad, a 5" backing plate, and a 4" pad kit that includes a backing plate. I personally like having 4" pads for tight areas. They're also great for polishing headlights. Alternatively, I would also give strong consideration to the Edge 2K pads. I like the idea of being able to quickly change pads without switching backing plates. Plus, the pads are automatically centered. If I could do it all over I would probably buy a couple of 6.5" Meguiar's polishing pads, a 6.5" yellow & a 6.5" orange Wolfgang pad, a 5" backing plate, and a 4" pad kit that includes a backing plate. Any suggestions would help alot. I've been searching all day and just want to place an order already but I am still not entirely clear on what to do.

Thanks,
Kow

I was trying to find the thread made by s2ksimon about detail his friend's berlina s2k. My accord's paint is in the same condition. I guess what I really need is suggestions for polishes, swirler removers, and pads.

Yup you need a backing plate unless you go with the Edge 2000 kit then you need the Edge 2000 adapter. Also, if you want 4" Edge pads I bet if you contacted Aaron at Edgepads.com he would make you some. I read on Detail City about him doing that for someone else.

Also, my list of pads doesn't include any finishing pads. However, if you want to apply any sealants or waxes by machine you'll need some. Personally, I prefer to apply sealanats/waxes by hand.
