Default Need recommendation for Air pump

I figured I ask here since I do this everytime I wash my car.
I check the air pressure and adjust it accordingly for my tires. Well I have a DC air pump, and the problem is that now I have broken my cigarette lighter, so I am going to get it fixed, but I dont want to use the DC air pump anymore. I want to get a normal AC pump that I can plug into the wall. Anyone have any recommendations, I cant seem to find any.

Not sure how well this will suit your needs but I have a Portable jump starter in my s2k with an air compressor that runs off the unit. It also has a 5 LED area light that runs for days at full brightness off that massive lead acid battery.

Used it twice already, once to start a storage car, once to help a girl out at work. It cost her though. Got the digits!

I thought about a booster pack, but I want something I can plug into the wall. Not to mention those packs are expensive.

so the DC air pump broke the cig. lighter? How did it break? too much current draw from the pump?

damn! I was just about to get one... since I don't have a spare anymore, as a "just in case" purchase.

I used to work at a Boat supply store, you should be able to get one there, or something that sells watersports. I worked at a store caled Boaters World, not sure if its in your area but we had them for sure.

Dude...stop messing around. Go to home depot (or Sears) and get a small compressor. I got a big one (26 gallon) on sale for $250 at sears, but small ones like 12 gallons are about 60 bucks or so. They can do a lot more than fill tires, and are VERY useful to keep around the house.

Clicky

If you have a garage, and want to spend some money....this is what I have. Comes with some tools as well, so it can really be useful if you are a DIY type guy.

Craftsman Compressor

This comes with an Air ratchet, Impact wrench, tire inflator attachment, blow gun, etc.

Also, these things make a lot of other tools cheap...for instance, I was shopping for a powdercoat gun, and a standalone gun is about $200. One that can be used with an air tank is about $50. Now, Im powdercoating ALL my own stuff, and saving a boatload. They really are useful. Let me know if you need any other help.
