oh crap - need help

There was a post a while back where one member left his car out in a rainstorm and the acid in the rain dissolved the sap. I don't know if that is good or bad.

naw I didn't scratch anything. It was just some vigorous buffing. (wait that sounds like somethig else )

Ya should have tried the "Bug and Tar" remover...it would have been almost effortless.

Aaron: did u not read my earlier post?

I tried 2 different brands of Bug and Tar Remover and they did not help one iota.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

There is a GREAT citrus based cleanser that seems to dissolve just about anything without taking off wax. It is called "Dissolve-It". In the future give that a try. The idea (remembering our Chem 101) is that 'likes dissolve likes' or oil-based, tar, sap, fats (insect entrails), etc are removed by lipid solubles. Citrus-based cleansers seem to do that without the harshness to the wax and our skin (can be irritating if left on though). Just food for thought. Let me know what your opinions are on that. I believe it actually can be used on the soft top safely too. Which makes me wonder... Was your top spared?
