Paint Discoloration
Hi,
I recently noticed that there is an area on my bumper (Suzuka) that looks a bit pinkish. I tried to take some pics, but it's kinda of faint, and I just can't get a good one. I had my friend who works at a dealer check it out, and he and the body shop guy thought that maybe the clearcoat was pulling away from the paint.
I took it to the dealer today to have it checked out by a Honda rep, and they say that it's probably due to a bug (enzyme) or that some kind of chemical was splashed on it. But they also said that the clearcot is not cracked or peeling.
My question is this. IF this was caused by some kind of chemical (or bug, etc.), wouldn't it do something to the clearcoat before it does somethign to the paint?

So do I have a valid argument if I ask how this chemical has damaged my paint but not the clearcoat, especially if they say that my clearcoat is not cracked nor peeling?
