Default Philosophical Wax Question

This could all be mind games and perception. My logical side tells me there's no basis for my findings but....

Lots and lots of people fussed when NXT came out that it didn't last very long. I was an opponent to this a while back, my first couple of uses of the product seemed to have lasted about 6 weeks on both our cars (they both sit outside for the moment till our house is finished). Lately they don't seem to be beading up well past a few weeks.

Now the odd part of all this is I have been waxing cars to anal degrees for at least 15 years, and have tried dozens of waxes. I try new things that come out and initially am very pleased (with some of them) but their results seem to diminish and I always return to old faithful pure carnuba wax, it's a pain to put on and take off but still seems to be the longevity leader.

I'll admit I have yet to try Zaino, I know, I know, but I just can't seem to justify the cost and steps steps steps, maybe one of these days.

What type of carnauba are you using.? Many of the newer ones like S100/P21s and Souveran are very easy to apply and remove.

travis- ubetit beat me to the post... so "what he said"!

btw, zaino does not have to be that difficult. it can be a one coat type product- its just that us anal guys just have to keep putting it on. a couple coats of zaino looks great and also protects great. you really should try it.
and then after you have it on the car, you can always throw a p21s over it at the next detailing!

for the most part I consider myself one of the anal group hence the fear of becoming addicted to the stuff as so many seem to be around here

I had an old can of yellow 100% carnuba with no name from an old detail supplier I used to use. Now I have some Meguires yellow carnuba.

Guess part of my hangup is that about $20 is the most I typically spend on wax products, maybe I should stop being a cheap ass and try the high dollar stuff. Especially since I don't usually get all the way through a bottle or can before I decide to try something else.

I paid $14.95 for my can of S100. It isn't that expensive.

Souveran on the other hand can run $55-$70

people rave about Zaino and Klasse (or some of the other high end stuff)for a reason - simply put these synthetics will outlast the typical carnauba not by weeks but by months. And yes the initial steps may seem like a lot work but the outcome is worth it.. I forgot how wanabe stated it to me once
