Polish
hey guys im a noob to removing swirl marks so today i decided to goto the store and pick up some meguires swirl remover. can anyone tell me if it is pointless to try to hand apply this? Also after applying i find that my towel is all red. Is this normal or am i causing damage? Any products you guys recommend for hand applications? thanks all
you can do a swirl removal by hand, but its a lot of work and you will be sore if you do it right...
any polish has to be worked really well, unlike waxes. with polishes, you dont just apply and remove- you really work them.
i am guessing that you are working on a red s2000- they do bleed for some reason. especially the hood.
i strongly suggest that you post up and borrow a machine from someone in your local club. i have no idea where shorthills is so i cant help you with that... i do like the idea of you bringing product and someone else brings the machine and the no how-

Vin, I haven't talked to you in forever man! Give me a call, we should cruise sometime.
Oh, and on the subject of polishes, I'd try to get someone who really knows what they;'re doing to help, the difference between hand application and application by someone skilled with a RO buffer is HUGE.

Be careful using too much polish on your car. The Red's do not have a clearcoat on them that is why you'll see red on your applicator. Honda mixes something into the red paint to make it look like it has a clear coat on it. All the other cars do have clearcoat. My suggestion is to do it either with an orbital or by hand small sections at a time.

Honda has done this in the past with other red cars they've produced. My old integra was red and had a tinted clearcoat. Whenever it was polished my pads would become pink.
