Default polishing/protecting the exhaust

I am about to purchase a stainless steel tipped exhaust. I have seen some others that have a black/blue tint at the tip, after some use.....what can I do tp clean or prevent that?

black and blue tip? prolly if it's titanium, if it's stainless, use Never Dull, it works awesome!

When Chrome and Stainless is subjected to high temperatures it gets a blue discoloration. On a cat-back, however, you don't have to worry about discoloration with that far downstream; the temp has dropped a lot going through the catalytic converter. The bluing is really only an issue on the headers, where temperatures are highest. Aftermarket cat-back exhausts with the bluish tips are most likely torched to get that look; strictly aesthetics.

There is nothing you can do to prevent the bluing, unless you keep polishing every time the exhaust cools, or get the product ceramic coated (i.e. HPC, Jet-Hot).
