Default Porter Cable 7424 not working?

So I just got my 7424 in last weekend and went to start the polishing process today. On the first go-round, I got about 1/3 of the car done. By this time, I started noticing that the speed was varying more and more significantly depending how I had the 7424 tilted. Then before long if I tilted it a certain way, the motor would stop all together. Put it down, checked all plugs and power, no problems there. When I flicked the ON switch again, I get nothing. Like I said, all power was/is good. The unit is not especially hot.

Has anyone else had something similar happen? Did I just get a lemon? I will call the service center since the manual says nothing, but they're obviously closed now and I was hoping maybe someone had a miracle cure so I can get on with my polish!!

Thanks guys

if you need a contact there, let me know

you should be able to call them and they will walk you through the exchange process

(if you had bought it from our sponsor, you could do it right here!!)

This happened to me a few years ago. I bought it from proper auto care in Fla. and I called Terri, the owner, who told me to return it and he sent me a new one in a week. I only had it a short time. Mine got very warm before it crapped out completely. The replacement has been going strong for 3 years.
