Default Professional detail?

The cars 3 years old, and I'm thinking it needs a bit of a makeover. I've never taken a car to be detailed before, so I don't know if it's worht it.

Is it worth $150 to have my car look like it once did in the showroom?
The place seems reputable, what's the likelyhood that I'll feel like I got my $150 worth.

Thanks.

A great detailer will bring that car back to showroom shine. Go to Autopia.org and ask for a professional detailer in the area. You may be able to find one close to you or get advice on the one you've chosen. Don't just pick any Joe Detailer though. I'd be most concerned about how they go about restoring your paint. Anyone can clean the inside of a car but swirl/scratch removal takes knowledge and practice.

my opinion is that you should do it yourself-
thats the only way you know what was really done and that it was done just right!
if you decide to try it, we will be happy to give you a complete rundown of the steps to take. not much more needs to be done to your car than would be done to ours in a normal detail...

Depends; if it just needs shining up, use something like Zaino or the other high end waxes and do it yourself (Or have me do it ), if the car has scratches that need to be fixed up, then you may want to go to a shop, I'm sure there are plenty of good ones in SF.

The exterior of the car is just fine. I zaino it every few months. Very shiny, and reflective. My main concern is the inside. I'm not sure that there's much a detailer can do that I cannot if I just take a few cotton swabs to it.

what do detailers generally do for the inside?

Interior? hmm well I havent had someone do my interior ever, but I couldnt see them doing much, vaccum, some lubricant/moisturizer for the leather, and some stuff for the dash...

I would think it'd be like armor all wipes sorta stuff. maybe different chemicals... that you could do yourself, some gas stations have vaccumes for 25 cents per minute and what not (I know the Arco near me as one) so stuff like that can be used.

If it's only interior that you are questioning I really dont think you should go spend cash to have it done IMHO. They really couldnt do anything THAT special...

If you can do Zaino... I'm sure you can do interiors with a little research...

As strange as it may sound, some of the "home garage" detailers use better products and do a better job than many of the big guys.

The big guys tend to survive on volume, while the garage guy makes it on craftsmanship and quality products.

There is a guy locally to does a full exterior detail including a polish sealant and wax for about $75. He takes pride in is work and uses the best products.-Klasse, Zaino, einszett, P21S ect...

A local big guy has a contract with Eagle1. Nuff said.
