Default Proper seat care?

Are the inside seating areas of the S2000 seats the only part that is leather?
Are the outer portions vinyl?
I have been using a leather cleaner & a leather conditioner on the entire surface of the seats. Should I be using a vinyl treatment for the outer portions?
Thanks

Well, I am sure the outer parts are leather, if I were doubting anything on the seats it would be the middle part since its full of holes haha, but that will tell you what parts of your s2k are leather . You can tell because it starts getting cracked over time if it isn't taken care of.

yup the entire fronts and sides are leather...
the hard part for a detailer is the "holes"- trick there is not to spray product on the seat. soak your applicator/rag with product - i then work the sides first then the "holey" middle so that i do not have too much product. learned this the hard way. when i first got the car i over applied in the holes and spent way too long getting the stuff out.

Sorry for bumping this old thread, but I have an 06 with black-red and I thought only the red parts (the portion that you sit on) was leather and the black was vinyl? The perforated red area is much softer and feels like leather, while the non-perforated black doesn't.

Do we have a definitive answer as to what is leather and what's vinyl?

That was my thinking as well. I was applying leather conditioner to the perforated areas of the seats, handbrake, door inserts, and center elbow rest. Everything else received vinyl protectant, except for the door handles and steering wheel.

I'm pretty sure the shift boot and center console are vinyl?

Hope I wasn't applying vinyl products to leather and vice versa! :-\

The Honda shift boot and Honda center console cover are vinyl.
As for the seats I am not sure but I was certain that the outer and inner parts are leather.

Doesn't matter if you apply leather conditioner to vinyl. But don't apply vinyl conditioner to leather. So I just apply leather conditioner on everything.

Z10 smells like real cow and I haven't had any issues with it so far.

Edit: Also the perforated bits are all leather, everything else on the seat is vinyl.

On my 2004, the stock shift boot was definitely leather. When I remove it, the back side of it was unfinished suede. Definitely not vinyl.
