When I took off one of my fender emblems I discovered the car had been painted and they did a sloppy job and hadn't removed anything first. I took the car to a nearby body shop to see what was the deal... I was told that it looked like the front bumber, both fenders and driver door had been painted . The color is off a bit, but the guy said it is very hard to match because of the process used. He suggested I put the side emblem back on because they had just painted one and had to paint the entire car to have it look right (cost $7,000).
So my question is when I took the emblem off the glue/tape was cut out in the shape of the S2000 emblem, so will I have to cut my own S-2-0-0-0 out of emblem adhesive or is there somewhere I can buy/get a precut adhesive? Maybe a Honda deal could do fairly cheap?
dealer can do it or you can buy the 3m adhesive... hardest part is getting them back exactly where they go, but if yours are "ghosted" on the paint you can prob find where they go??
another choice would be to buy the black chrome badges... they come with the adhesive and look pretty sharp:

what should have been done: put a piece of painters tape along the bottom and one side of the emblem before you remove it. Clean, wax, etc the area. Line up the new badge and place tape along the top and the other side. Now remove the old tape, finish cleaning and waxing. Now you will have the whole area prepped AND you will have two guide lines to line up the new badge
