I've heard a quote attributed to Mike Phillips of Meguiar's fame: "Find something you like and use it often." Whoever said it, it's good advice.
If I'm pleased with the way that ProductA looks, that's all that matters. I'll spend my money on it. If it actually looks different, ok; if it actually looks the same as something else but the "placebo effect" causes me to prefer it, so be it. It's my money and I'll spend it on what pleases me, for whatever rational or irrational reasons.
Emil,
We corresponded a year or so ago because I liked the way the P21S looked on your red S2000. I'm using some other products and haven't ordered P21S, but I do think it looked good on pictures of your red S2000. You like it, which matters; I like it, which doesn't matter. Sounds like you've found the product you like: use it often.
Half the fun of detailing though is trying new products.
Finding what you like is fun. Finding something you like more is even better!
In the end though, it's your own opinion of the product and not that of others which matters as you say.
