Remove primer overspray?
Ok guys. I made fiberglass extension pieces for my ASM flares. My best friend owns a bodyshop, but he was too busy to mold it into the bumper. Like an idiot, I had someone else do it. Well. he completely f'd it up and I had my friend redo it it. Problem is, the guy has a ton of primer overspray all over the car. What can I do to take it off? I have a Ryobi 6" buffer. If I use this, what polish should I use? Would paint thinner ruin the paint? Maybe really high sandpaper?
Thanks
Thanks
No on the Ryobi and not yet on the sandpaper.
First, try some detailing clay. The meguiar's or Mother's clay kits you see in the store will suffice. Wash and dry your car first, then use the detail clay. Be generous with the detail spray, because if your not, you could possibly mar the paint with just the clay.
If that doesn't work, ask any friends that have a Porter-Cable or other good DA buffer and use that with a fine polish. If none of your friends have one, post up in your chapter to see if any of them have one and could help you do the polish. Just offer them a few brews or some grub, and you should be good to go.
Or....
you could buy the PC yourself with some pads and polish and do it yourself. The PC is very user friendly, easy to use, and will not "melt" off your paint if you hold it in one spot a second too long.
Hope this helps. Anymore questions, just ask

The ryobi might not have a low enough rpm range, or a way to change pads etc. Do you know the model # and/or a link to the exact one you have online? I would like to look it up.
As far as the pearl, that shouldnt matter when it comes to claying or doing a light polish.
