Removing Window Decal

Removing Window Decal
Hi,
I have moved to a new state and no longer need my NC state inspection decal which is currently stuck to the front window. What is the best way to remove it?
The instructions on the sticker recommend a razor blade which seems a little harsh.
Thanks
M

Using a razor blade to remove a sticker from a window is not an unusual practice. Basically, you hold the blade at flat against the window with a slight angle and scrape the sticker off. As long as you don't scrape with the corner of the blade you should have no problems.
You could also use a plastic razor blade if you don't feel comfortable with a metal one. They sell them on-line. I'm not sure where you could buy them locally. You could also try using a plastic putty knife which you could buy at your local hardware store.
After you scrape off the sticker you'll have some adhesive left on the windshield. You'll need some adhesive remover like the 3M Adhesive Remover or Goo Gone to get rid of that. WD-40 may work too, but will leave a residue on the glass which will then need to be cleaned.

I do this every year to replace my registration sticker.

Thanks for the replies. I just finished repairing and painting a wall in the house so I'll try the plastic putty knife this weekend. I'll let you guys know how that works
