I just got the S back from being completely repainted. I frequently go on backroad, "aggressive" drive, which mean lots of paint chips. I was thinking about taping off the front of the car, for some protection, and was wondering if there was a recommneded tape or which tapes to avoid. Also, when I remove the tape, recommended cleaning products....thanks.

The automotive paint supplier by me uses a blue 3m tape that has an adhesive similar to that of the Post-it notes. It isn't supposed to leave any residue when removed.

 

Go check out your local racetrack... everyone uses it here.

Ask your local body shop if you can buy a roll from them (my body shape gave me some for free).

 

Is this like blue painter's masking tape? -- like you would get at the hardware store?
