Default scratches from scraping the hedges

My mom scraped the side of her suv on some hedges and now there are long scratches (3 or 4) across the side of the car. They dont seem to be too deep. Any ideas of the best way to get them out? I can borrow a buffer, do I just purchase some wax and apply it on the scratches with a buffer? Any ideas would really be appreciated, I am really clueless on this topic. Thanks.

yup, polish is the solution... (not wax)

hard part is which one!
could be anything from a swirl remover to a fine cut to a full compound.
my favs are the menzernas- but specifics depend on how bad the scratches are.

got pics?? close up and full scratch pics should help.
have you ever used a buffer?

No sorry I don't have any pics. Ok so I guess ill try a swirl remover. Should I do it by hand instead? And no I haven't used a buffer before so any tips would be great. I just don't want them to be visible or come back in the future (they are really long so I'm worried). Thanks.

nope- no hand jobs... and for good reason- they will fall off after a hand polishing if you do it right!

better idea: post up in the so cal forum that you are looking for someone to teach you how to use the machine. tell them that if they supply the machine you will supply the product and refreshments. you will get your car like new, learn how to polish and just as important, make a new friend.
this suggestion gets me more positive feedback than anything else that i suggest here. try it and let me know how it goes-
