Default sealant vs. wax

Hello:

I've been thinking of getting my S2000 detailed. Just about every detailing Center I've checked in to offers a detailing that includes a sealant if the vehicle is less than 6 months old.

The last time I bought a car the dealer put a sealant on. That car never seemed to take wax very well after that and so I am leery.

I called one of the detailing centers and asked them what ramifications this sealant had for waxing later on. I was told that if I applied wax over this sealant it would probably cause a white haze.

Can someone enlighten me as to the do's and don'ts of waxing car after a sealant has been applied?

Thanks

dont waste your money on sealants...
(your car has a good clear coat, as do most new cars)
just use a good quality synthetic (you might be able to tell that zaino is the most widely used by this board, but not the only one) or carnuba. my first choices would be zaino or finish first-
very easy to use and you know that its done right when you do it yourself!

with wanabe.
If you have a sealant on the paint already and wish to wax the car instead, remove the sealant first. Find out from the dealer how to remove it. If you don't remove it, then wax is NOT a good thing to use as it will most likely "yellow" with each application. A white haze would be even worse.
If you don't want to remove it, then as wanabe says, a "NON" wax product is your best bet.
Those paint sealants are basically a waste of money but I'm sure you already have that feeling or you wouldn't be asking about waxing over it.

Look at meguiar's posted right under this posting, I talk about a good sealant and the benifits of using it. I'll never go back to waxing again.
