Snow Removal
I am a complete noob when it comes to caring for a car as much as I do my S2k
. I don't want to scratch the paint all to heck just to get some snow off the car, but I wanted to know what our northern brothers/sisters did to get the majority of snow off their cars?
Bear in mind my situation:
I'm at work, it's snowing, I'll have 3-6" on the car by the time I get ready to leave, and I'll have to clear some of the stuff off to get going. Is there a tool you use? Or just say screw the paint, sweep the snow off, and deal with the scratches in the spring?

I use a car snow brush to clear off the bulk of the snow. I don't get right down the to the painted surface. Always brush with the bristles trailing the motion. Don't push the bristles "against the grain". Some people are afraid of scraping the glass with an ice scraper, but in the 5 (now going on 6) winters I've done this, the glass never showed any negative affects. Stick with a nice sharp edged plastic or brass scraper, not steel and replace it if it gets a nick in it. Even with the scraper, I find "dragging" it across the windshield does an effective job and only "pushing" it when the ice is stubborn.
ps. It helps that you took care of the paint before winter by putting on a good coat of wax or polish.

Wait, how did you know I'm Polish? eerie...
Thanks for the tips. I did put a couple of coats of wax on her in the last few weeks, just for such occasions. I'll give it a whirl. Thanks!
