Default OEM Layers of paint

It seems like the search is down, so I'll just ask and risk geting flamed. I am getting my right rear quarter panel repainted due to a freak accident, and the guy that is repainting it says that he will use two layers of paint and two layers of clear coat.

My question is...Is this the right amount of layers? I always thought OEM had more than 2 layers of paint. I apologize if this is a stupid question, but I just had to know. Thanks in advance for everyone's response.

good question- my guess:
i understand that its the quality of the spray job more than the number of coats...
one coat of paint is enough if applied properly. 2 coats is probably fine- the clear coats are more important these days, and 2 of those is pretty normal.
